A One-Person AI Startup
CalorieAI is built by one person, focused on AI and vertical industry applications—making calorie tracking as simple as snapping a photo.
The Mission
Make calorie tracking effortless. No more searching through food lists or guessing portion sizes. Just snap a photo, and AI does the rest—identifying food and pulling accurate nutrition data.
The Story
Like many people, I tried calorie tracking apps but hated the manual input. Searching food lists, guessing portion sizes—it felt like homework. Photo recognition apps existed, but accuracy was disappointing.
So I built CalorieAI. A simple idea: combine AI image recognition with a verified nutrition database. Snap a photo → AI identifies the food → pull real nutrition data from FatSecret's 2M+ foods.
This is a one-person project. I handle everything: development, design, customer support. The goal isn't to be the biggest calorie app—it's to be the simplest one that actually works.
If you're tired of tedious calorie logging, give it a try. Free scans available daily, no signup required.

How We Measure Accuracy
We don't just claim 85% accuracy — we tested it. Here's how:
📊 Test Method
50 common foods photographed, compared AI results vs USDA/FatSecret verified data
Result: 85% within 10% margin of error
Tested foods: rice bowl, salad, sandwich, soup, fruit, meat dishes
Data source:FatSecret's verified nutrition database (USDA-standardized). Not AI guesses — real data from 2M+ foods.
